Adrian Hernandez-del-Valle

Dr. Adrian Hernandez del Valle is a leading Data Scientist and AI Specialist with extensive experience. He has collaborated with businesses and government agencies to create intelligent business solutions. These solutions are based on advanced analytics. Adrian has experience using statistical programming languages for data science. He is an expert in natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning techniques. He is a self-motivated, innovative, and intellectually curious professional. Adrian can handle long-term projects, ad hoc requirements, and competing priorities. He is a fluent communicator in English, Spanish, and French.
His last managerial position was as CEO of Intelligence Matters. This is a consulting company that provides artificial intelligence and business intelligence services. He was personally involved in three types of projects: natural language processing, forecasting, and risk management. His projects include similarity detection in phone calls, electric load forecasting, credit card fraud detection, and credit card risk management.
Adrian previously served as a Sr. Data Scientist and Deputy Director at ESTA International. There, he provided surveillance of the Mexican Electricity Wholesale Market. His role involved collaborating with the firm to develop intelligent solutions using advanced analytics.
During two three-year periods, he was the Dean of Graduate Studies & Research at the School of Economics of the Instituto Politecnico Nacional. He has been teaching financial risk management to graduate students for over 20 years.
Adrian has been involved in several data science projects. These include predicting pollution in the Spanish Mediterranean, building a program that estimates the fair price of a Mortgage Backed Security, and constructing a big data model of consulting firms. He holds a Master of Artificial Intelligence from OBS Business School and Universidad Politecnica de Cataluña (Barcelona, Spain). He also has a Master of Arts in Statistics from Columbia University (New York City) and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional (Mexico City).
